I am starting to hate Technology

Technology has a lot more to with why things are so screwed up than what I originally thought. I'm not going to dive off of the deep end just yet. Lets look at a few basic examples. The music business was once a thriving and successful industry. With the introduction of down loadable free ware such as kaaza lime wire and similar software, people discovered that it was much easier to download the music for free verses paying 20 bucks for a new album. Result? Artists having music leaked and dramatic loss of sales. Cell phones were the hottest thing when they first appeared. Originally a luxury item of the rich, it gradually became affordable for the average Joe. Now you'd be hard pressed to find even the homeless without one. My biggest annoyance is that so many people have become self-important because nothing else matters except their stupid phone. How many times have you been in line at the grocery store only to hear some jerks conversation because he's just so important that he can't wait to leave the store before having a full blown discussion? You do go the grocery store to buy groceries and not blab on the phone right? Not in our society.  What about the time when a phone was JUST a phone? Now they might as well be computers. Before long there will be no more computers because cell phones will have entire processors crammed into a handheld device. Oh wait, its already happening. Just look at the iPhone for example. Why buy a laptop like people did before, when you have millions of apps on your iPhone. Why buy a camera like people used to when you have a 50 mega pixel lens in your iPhone? How many companies and products will vanish at the mercy of the "mighty" iPhone? What happened to the days when you actually had to visit people to have a conversation and spend time together? Now folks go online and post a few tweets on twitter or a few pics on face book and walla! No need to visit one another...Social networking will be the death of us all (cynicism). People no longer care about PEOPLE. All they care about now is their stupid text messages and applications. I'm not even going to get into how much nonsense is involved with social networking. Lets not forget to mention the access to your children by molesters and child predators thanks to none other than Facebook, Myspace, Craigslist and...well you get the picture. Besides that, why do people need to know when you're digging your nose, or taking a piss, or drinking a cup of coffee anyway? This is how I feel people. If you don't have something relevant or insightful to say or something that's actually going to benefit others, then shut up! Excuse my french. That's the problem with technology; it opens a few good doors and a LOT of bad ones. Free speech is a privilege, not a necessity and some need to learn that just because you "can" say something doesn't mean that you should. I could go on about why I am starting to hate technology but I'm not for your sake and mine. It just feels good to vent sometimes. As always, Truth is Freedom, Knowledge is power.
